Women are like apples on trees: the best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy....... so the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along- the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.

And remember ... Men are like a fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

how true is that? very

AS virtuous men pass mildly away,
And whisper to their souls to go,
Whilst some of their sad friends do say,
"Now his breath goes," and some say, "No."

So let us melt, and make no noise,
No tear-floods, nor sigh-tempests move ;
'Twere profanation of our joys
To tell the laity our love.

Moving of th' earth brings harms and fears ;
Men reckon what it did, and meant ;
But trepidation of the spheres,
Though greater far, is innocent.

Dull sublunary lovers' love
—Whose soul is sense—cannot admit
Of absence, 'cause it doth remove
The thing which elemented it.

But we by a love so much refined,
That ourselves know not what it is,
Inter-assurèd of the mind,
Care less, eyes, lips and hands to miss.

Our two souls therefore, which are one,
Though I must go, endure not yet
A breach, but an expansion,
Like gold to aery thinness beat.

If they be two, they are two so
As stiff twin compasses are two ;
Thy soul, the fix'd foot, makes no show
To move, but doth, if th' other do.

And though it in the centre sit,
Yet, when the other far doth roam,
It leans, and hearkens after it,
And grows erect, as that comes home.

Such wilt thou be to me, who must,
Like th' other foot, obliquely run ;
Thy firmness makes my circle just,
And makes me end where I begun.

written by John Donne

Someone sent this to me in an email...

You gotta love Robin Williams... even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin Williams to come up with the perfect plan. What we need now is for our UN Ambassador to stand up and repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to argue with this logic!)

"I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan."

1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good ole boys', we will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them are stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?'"
I took her out it was Friday night
I wore cologne to get the feeling right
We started (hmmmmmm hmm hmmmm) and she took (hmmm hmm hmm)
But then I turned on the TV
And that's about the time that she walked away from me

Nobody likes you when you're 17
And are still more amused by TV shows
What the heck is ADD?
My friends say I should act my age
What's my age again?
What's my age again?

Then later on, on the drive home
I called her mom from a pay phone
I said I was the cops
And your husband's in jail
This state looks down on (blah blah blah)
And that's about the time that (person) hung up on me

Nobody likes you when your 17
And are still more amused by prank phone calls
What the heck is caller ID?
My friends say I should act my age
What's my age again?
What's my age again?

And that's about the time she walked away from me
Nobody likes you when your 17
And you still act like you're in Freshman year
What the heck is wrong with me?
My friends say I should act my age
What's my age again?
What's my age again?

That's about the time she broke up with me
No one should take themselves so seriously
With many years ahead to fall in line
Why would you wish that on me?
I never want to act my age
What's my age again?
<lj:music>Oasis - Wonderwall</lj:music>

First let me say that I love you all. I'm probably crazy for doing this, but here is a quote from a commentary by a guy named J. Vernon McGee. He's a good one. Please read it and let me know what you think.

"There has always been a controversy about 'wine' in the New Testament being an alcoholic intoxicant. It is my firm conviction that the LORD JESUS did not make an intoxicating drink at the wedding in Cana of Galilee (John 2). Anyone who attempts to make of Him a bootlegger is ridiculous and is doing absolutely an injustice to the Word of God. People like to present the argument that in the warm climate of Israel all you had to do was put grapejuice in a wine skin and in time it would ferment. Yes, but in the miracle at Cana, the LORD JESUS started out with water, and in a matter of seconds He had 'wine.' My friend, it didn't have a chance to ferment. And we must remember that the Wedding in Cana was a religious service, and everything that had to do with leaven (aka yeast, which is fermentation) was FORBIDDEN. This is the reason that at the time of the Passover and the institution of the Lord's supper the wine could not have been fermented. Fermentation is the working of leaven, and leaven was strictly FORBIDDEN in bread and in everything else at this time as well. The bread and drink could not have been leavened. Intoxicants are condemned in the Word of God: 'Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.' (Proverbs 20:1) "

Ok I love you all so much and the last thing i want to do is start a theological debate on livejournal, but if you feel you can calmly and intelligently express your convictions and beliefs on this topic, even if you oppose it strongly, leave something.

Did I mention that I love you all so very much? (Just trying to keep the peace and not start a holy war here)

this is a boring entry

I just found this out. Jeff, the son of James Andrews (for those of you who dont know, James Andrews started The Chapel in 1961 and was the pastor for almost 40 years), so Jeff and his wife Dana had a baby boy the other day. He was born on May 29, 2005, which is funny because May 29 was the day of the last service The Chapel had in its old facility, which James Andrews was obviously a huge part of. That's not all that's interesting. The baby boy's name: James Wilson Andrews, which is the same as his late grandpa's. How weird is that?

Ok, this entry appeals to The Chapel people... if it appeals to anyone at all, which it probably doesnt.
I'm sorry for wasting your time.

i went to ted's on niagara falls boulevard today. as i walked in, i made eye contact with the girl running the grill. sparks flew. emotions ran high. i stepped up to the counter and placed my order of 3 hot dogs and it was the most beautiful moment ever.

ok, that's all half-truth (or is it half-lies?). There is this girl at that Ted's who does work the grill and she does make eye contact with me. Everytime i look at her, she reminds me of Christie Campbell in like 7 years. Be careful Chrizzles, if you dont do something with that culinary degree you might end up working the grill at your local Ted's Hot Dogs and making eye contact with 17 year old boys. And no one wants to lead that kind of life.

needless to say, she is gorgeous
